Where can I go on holiday this year that is a change from the ordinary? As the saying goes, 'a change is as good a rest' and some of the most relaxing holidays where you forget about everyday life are those which engage your mind and senses and perhaps give you beautiful scenes and new challenges.
There are many beautiful locations all around the world and some gorgeous ones in Britain and Ireland. We often overlook our own country because essentially we have followed the sun and not explored our own land. There are so many areas of outstanding natural beauty and yet most of us may have visited only one or two. Everyone knows about the Cotswolds, but have you been to see what all the fuss is about?
These truly beautiful locations feed the soul. When times are difficult, and your world becomes stressful, think back to these images of beauty stored in your memory. Allow your children to recall times when they paddled in shallow rivers or fished for frog spawn. Better still, take great photographs to adorn your walls at home and surround yourself with lovely views. All of these places offer families the opportunity to learn about nature, to recognise the different trees, birds and wild flowers. The great outdoors is also good for activity holidays.
