Wise lighthouse owners have extended living accommodation at ground level to reduce the number of stairs to climb. It is still thrilling to wake up in an upper bedroom and see seagulls swirling outside the window. You just have to ask yourself whether the effort is worth the view.

Castles appeal to the romantics in us, all those stone corridors, flagged floors and a banquet hall at our disposal sounds grandiose. Because they are very large buildings, they are suitable for group accommodation, for weddings and events. However, we can dream.
