Make the most of precious weekends, especially when the sun shines by booking a pine lodge or log cabin for a weekend break in the country. The minimum duration for a weekend break is usually three days, Friday with a Monday morning departure. There may be a few Saturday and Sunday log cabins available. Holiday lodges tend to be sited in rural areas, sometimes surrounded by woodland.
The other appeal of pine lodges is that they are sometimes themed; they could be around a fishing like with an opportunity to sit be the water all weekend or beside a golf course. Some of the Scottish lodges are built overlooking a lake or in wildlife rich woodland.
