Find at holiday cottage at the Bullers of Buchan

Bullers of BuchanIt would be difficult to find a more dramatic spot to stay than at the Bullers of Buchan. Tall cliffs overlook a tiny bay far below where waves crash endlessly against the rocks. Inhospitable for much of the year, this is the domain of the bird kingdom and the shrieking and swirling of sea birds is awesome to behold.

The hamlet of Bullers of Buchan consists of a small number of granite dwellings that appear to be welded to the rock. Some stand just feet from the cliff edge. This is not a place for young children if you wish to sleep soundly at nights. The walls of these cottages are almost fortified assuring snug accommodation protected from the ravages of the weather. Find a holiday cottage with a log burner to make is very warm and extra welcoming.

A car is essential for a holiday in the Bullers of Buchan. The nearest shops are a couple of miles away in Cruden Bay and it would ne a great shame not to be able to drive to other amazing locations nearby. There is a fabulous small beach at Whinnyfold, the nature reserve at Newburgh and picturesque Collieston.

There is plenty of space for parking near the Bullers of Buchan and nights would be tranquil apart from the sounds of the waves to help you drift off to sleep. A footpath leads the way across the cliffs and there is a bench to sit on to survey the coast. It would be incredible to sit and watch the sun go down over the sea.
