Shorwell is a village located towards the South West of the Isle of Wight, just 6 kilometres from the county town of Newport which was reputed to be one of Queen Victoria’s favourite places to visit. Shorwell is home to pretty thatched cottages and three large country houses, one of which is the largest manor house on the Island, Northcourt Manor. This mansion house has extensive country grounds containing a beautiful spring, named the Shor well which feeds into a stream.
