Welford is a beautifully picturesque village lying on the borders of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire that can be found on the banks of the River Avon. Home to two marinas on the Grand Union Canal, a High Street with a village shop and hall, a couple of pubs and the 13th century parish church of St Mary the Virgin, Welford is a fantastic place to visit or stay in, where you and those you love can rent a cottage to soak up the scenery and wonderful atmosphere of Welford. There are many places to go walking in and around the settlement as well, with part of the Jurassic Way long distance footpath being located in Welford, and there are also many fields and a couple of reservoirs in which to walk or cycle by – Sulby and Welford. Just 9 miles from Welford lies the town of Market Harborough which is a lovely place to visit for the day.
