Rothwell is a charming market town and is full of history and fascinating things to discover on a self-catering holiday in Northamptonshire. There are many interesting buildings to see in Rothwell including the wonderful Market House, which is remarkable because construction began in the 16th century, but it wasn’t until 300 years later that it was completed. The Holy Trinity Church, a Grade I listed 11th century building, is also interesting to see due to its Bone Crypt holding the remains of over 1000 people. As one of only two in the country, it is both an eerie and astonishing thing to know if attended one of the events or concerts regularly put on at the church. With plenty of shops and pubs and at only 5 miles from the town centre of Kettering, Rothwell is a great place to rent a cottage in this part of England.
