Denford is a small yet delightful village in a lovely rural area of East Northamptonshire. Home to just a couple of hundred villagers, Denford sits on the banks of the meandering River Nene and is home to a high street with a couple of shops and pubs. It is an excellent place in which to rent self-catering accommodation as there are several cottages available where you can stay with friends and family and use as a base to explore the nearby areas in Northamptonshire. These cottages have incredible views of the stunning scenery, perfect for going for long walks or rambles, and they also have all of the facilities you would look for when going on a self-catering holiday. The kitchens are fully-equipped, the lounges are cosy with log burners, squishy sofas, TVs and DVD players, and the bedrooms are light and airy with comfortable sheets and linen.
Denford is close to the picturesque Kinewell Lake, the waters of which glisten and sparkle on a sunny afternoon. The lake can be found just 1.5 miles down the road from Denford and can easily be reached by foot, car or bicycle, and taking a picnic to enjoy by the water with loved ones is a great way of spending some quality time together in a beautiful setting.
Also nearby to Denford village is the town of Kettering, just 12 miles or a 20 minute drive away. Kettering is bustling town with plenty to do, including visiting the great shopping district or sampling some of the many restaurants and cafes in the area. Wellingborough is also close to Denford, just 11 miles from the village, and this pretty market town is also set on the River Nene and is a lovely and friendly place to visit.
Denford is a quiet part of Northamptonshire, but there is a lot to see and do in the vicinity for a fun and varied break in this part of England.
