Is it just a mountainous country full of sheep and a people with a singsong accent who like to sing in choirs? Yes, but with so much more. Wales is renowned for its scenery, superb beaches and national parks. It has three national parks:
- Magnificent and mountainous Snowdonia
Yes, there are spectacular mountains - everyone has heard of Snowdonia and Mount Snowdon. Did you know that you can take a train that climbs steeply to the top of Snowdon and rewards you with the most breathtaking views?
- The Brecon Beacons
The Brecon Beacons National Park lies to the north of Merthyr Tydfil. The hills are perfect for summer hikes and family trips to the countryside.
- The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is in the southwest of Wales. A costal path extends northwards all the way around Cardigan Bay up to Snowdonia. Find holiday lets near the coastal path that have sea views. There is a lengthy, picturesque coastline with cliffs and some of the cleanest sandy beaches in Britain. Try Pembrokeshire for a real beach holiday, perhaps Porthllisky Bay with its fascinating rock pools and clear waters for bathing. Visit Skomer Island, a bird and wildlife paradise, by boat, and say 'Bore da' to the comical puffins.
