July holidays in Scotland

The annual Highland Games are held during the summer in various locations.  Many towns host their own games and it can be good fun to watch brawny kilted men toss the caber or dance the Highland fling.

The summer is always a good time to visit Scotland - the months from May to September are generally the best and most reliable.

In the summer you will be able to enjoy Scottish raspberries - the finest anywhere, forest and verges with wild flowers, and some of the best and widest sandy beaches in the British Isles. The above beach is at balmedie, just north of Aberdeen, and is part of miles of golden sands on the north east of Scotland coast.

There are unspoilt forests, forests with mountain biking trails, waymarked footpaths, bridleways and acres of beautiful Scottish countryside to enjoy. The cottage owners will be delighted to tell you about their part of Scotland.
