Brown Clee Hill is the highest of the Shropshire hills at about 1,800 feet, near the medieval trade route across the hills and into south east England. The hill-top contains much volcanic rock called dolerite. Coal and ironstone were once mined here. The Brown Clee Forest Trail runs through mixed woodland providing good views of the countryside.
