Grove Farm is 3.5 miles from the attractive Suffolk market town of Halesworth with its large Rainbow supermarket and good selection of shops. Bramfield Village (1 mile) also has its own locally renowned butcher 'K Clark' with a deli counter, groceries and post office.

Also in Bramfield is the Queens Head Pub and Restaurant which has won the "Best Suffolk Dining Pub" award for the last two years. The food is all organically produced, lovely to eat and mostly organic.

Other places recommended for visits include: Southwold with its sand and pebble beach with the famous beach huts and newly rebuilt pier. It's a lovely old town, well worth a visit just to walk along the sea front, Walberswick where our favourite short walk is across a rabbit mown field and sand dunes to a lovely sandy beach. Kids can have fun catching crabs on the bridge by the car park using a weighted piece of string baited with bacon, Dunwich has a pebble beach and is less busy than others. There is a beach-side fish and chip shop for a quick tasty meal, open in the summer until 5pm.

Travel: Norwich Airport, Stansted Airport, Darsham or Halesworth Station.

Good places to visit: Suffolk heritage coast including Southwold, Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo, the numerous large country mansions and gardens open to the public.

Annual Events: Antique fairs, Christmas and Victorian evenings during winter months.

Good places to eat: Queens Head, Bramfield, which has won the 'Best Suffolk Dining Award' for the past two years.

Local Sports: Walking, bird watching, cycling on quiet Suffolk lanes, watersports at beach.
