•    Some holidaymakers prefer to pay by credit card and book online and many owners and most agencies offer this facility nowadays.  We signpost where owners or agencies offer online booking on the site, as well as weblinks to owner and agency websites where you can book direct.

•    Some independently owned cottages do not currently offer online booking, and payment for these properties is usually via bank transfer or cheque.  Stay safe and always call the owner or agency on the phone number given on the site and check over any bank details and payment methods quoted in email with the owner before placing a booking.  Phone numbers for owners are given on each property ad.  We advise that you do not make bank payments to any foreign bank accounts.

•    It is strongly recommended that you take out appropriate holiday insurance.

 

We feature a variety of different owners on Country Cottages Online, from small individual cottage owners to owners who have country houses or complexes with several complexes.  Some owners offer online booking facilities via their own websites.
 

Some owners do not offer online booking facilities and may ask that you pay by bank transfer.  Before paying by bank transfer you are strongly advised to ensure that you have details of the booking contract and call the owner on the phone number listed to check over the bank details with them.  It is NOT advisable to make payments to foreign accounts, and any such requests should be  viewed with suspicion.

• Call the owner’s phone number on the site to check that any bank details you have been provided with via email are correct prior to making payment.
