Clackmannanshire is an old county in Central Scotland that has the River Forth at its south western boundary. There are places to fish on rivers, lochs and fisheries in this area of Scotland. The Gartmorn Dam Fishery situated in the Clackmannanshire Country Park is a good location for brown trout and the relaxing passing of a few hours. Any Scottish fishing web site will provide specific detailed information about angling.

We are more concerned with the provision of good quality holiday cottages to rent a week at a time or for a short 3 day or 4 night period. Clackmannanshire is an excellent central location in Scotland for a holiday that allows a newcomer to visit some of Scotland's premier attractions. The Scottish capital of Edinburgh lies just downriver; a city with lots to offer tourists and always has that atmosphere of a quietly thriving community. The castle, shopping centres, museums and granite architecture are all worth seeing. Our favourite spot is Edinburgh zoo, which is extensive and demands comfortable footwear.

Across the River Forth to the west is Stirling with yet another castle. Follow the river upstream to Doune Castle and the Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park. As is evident thus far, this is a land of castles and formidable people. Times may have changed but the spirit lives on. A cottage holiday in Clackmannanshire will be anything but boring. Come and visit soon.
