Rosies orchard has one double bedroom and bathroom downstairs, one double and one twin bedroom upstairs, kitchen, dining room and sitting room all open plan.

Colchester England's oldest town is 30 minutes away with a Norman castle, super zoo and shops. There are the Beth Chatto gardens in Colchester and RHS Hyde Hall in between South Woodham Farrers and Hanningfield. The bluebells in Danbury Common and woods are stunning in May.

Nearest Train Station or Airport: Witham. Room for two cars only. Only paying guests of cottage to use the pool.

Recommended Places to Visit: Constable Country, beaches at Southend Brightlingsea, Frinton, Clacton and Walton on Naze.

Annual Events: V Festival in Chelmsford during the third weekend of August. A market is held in Promenade Park on bank holidays. The Heybridge Summer Fete takes place on the third Saturday in June. The Maldon Victorian Evenings on Thursday at the beginning of December are a special pre-Christmas treat each year. There is no better place than Essex for shopping.

Recommended Places to Eat Out: Blue Strawberry in Hatfield Peverel for fine dining, many pubs and restaurants in Maldon 2 miles away. A Greek restaurant in Maldon offers lively evenings with Greek music and dance.

Local Sports: blackwater leisure center 2.5 miles

Langford is a small hamlet 2 miles out of the riverside town of Maldon. Maldon is steeped in history. Take a guided tour of Moot Hall or participate in a ghost walk that ends at the quayside where old barges are moored.
