The soaring triangular tower of the Wellington Monument commemorates this fact and is a Grade II listed structure owned by the National Trust. The pretty Wellington Park is lovely for afternoon strolls or to enjoy a relaxing picnic in the gardens, and it is on the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England as it was formed to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII. Another place to visit is the Wellington Basins which is a local nature reserve on the edge of town and is home to a pond, a boardwalk and several species of flora and fauna. There are woodlands and hedges around the pond as well, making it a lovely spot to visit.

The town is home to the Wellington Arts Centre and Wellesley Theatre where brilliant productions are put on from local theatre groups. There is also an independent cinema, great to pop along to for an evening out during your holiday.
