The tower sleeps six comfortably in:

  • Three double rooms – all are en-suite.
  • Separate circular bathroom complete with a French cast-iron roll-top bath overlooked by a ship’s figurehead
  • Modern fully-equipped galley kitchen at the top.
  • Second kitchen/breakfast room at the bottom with a farmhouse table and dome ceiling.
  • Fully furnished, towels, soap etc are all provided along with a welcome hamper.
  • Parking for up-to three cars is available in a secluded private driveway.
  • Free WIFI broadband internet access throughout – Bring your laptop!
  • Small patio/barbecue area outside in a garden surrounded by mature plants and vines.
  • Well behaved pets are welcome but must be restricted to the ground floor.

Burnham-on Sea is an old-fashioned Victorian seaside resort – much smaller than the neighbouring Weston-Super-Mare. It is an ideal base for a family seaside holiday or an unforgettable break with friends. The lighthouse is located only 2 miles from the M5 and is an ideal base to explore Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. The list of things to do is endless from windsurfing, golf and kite-flying on the beach to shopping in Glastonbury or exploring the historic cities of Wells, Bath, Bristol and Exeter.

There is an endless list of activities to enjoy with ‘something for everyone’ WE GUARANTEE IT! Helicopter trips & Museum nearby at Weston which also has a Sea Aquarium, Winter Pavilion, pier, funfair, Lambretta museum etc ….. For a gentler experience The West Somerset Steam railway passes through stunning countryside and pretty villages like Dunster, renowned for its impressive castle. The Somerset levels are dotted with historic cider pubs which serve great home-cooked food. They are also cris-crossed with canals, winding lanes and willow farms which make baskets and other products. Picturesque Wells has a beautiful cathedral and historic centre as does the beautiful Roman city of Bath and ancient shipping port of Bristol where you can see Brunel’s magnificent SS Great Britain and elegant suspension bridge. Glastonbury, renowned for it’s rock festival – historic Tor and Abbey and is centred on lay lines and is undoubtedly one of the most ‘cosmic’ places on earth! Maybe you just want to walk along the beach as far as the ancient wooden shipwreck at Berrow, which has a beautiful bird garden or march purposefully though the Mendips – You will NOT be bored!

Annual Events: Bridgewater Carnival is the biggest electric event of its kind in Europe. So bright it can be seen by astronauts orbiting in space. It passes through Burnham and its neighbouring towns from Late October to mid November. Brightly lit floats are accompanied by spectacular firework displays at the end of each event. Glastonbury Pop Festival is held annually in June. Weston beach race mad Enduro event. Late September.

Good places to eat: The ‘Red Cow’ Brent Knoll …. Really good family friendly pub. The’Goat House’ nearby – fantastic food – rustic, organic locally produced menu and a decent wine list. Special occasions - Any of the restaurants in Axbridge near King John’s Hunting Lodge. Everything about Axbridge on A38 to Bristol is good! Well worth a visit.
