Exmoor National Park covers much of North Devon in a beautiful green wilderness stretching from Minehead to Coombe Martin. The Somerset and North Devon Coastal Path follows the coastline of Exmoor for over 30 miles. Rough grass, heathers, randomly strewn rocks and gushing streams create a landscape of abandoned beauty. The Badgworthy Water area is where R.D. Blackmore's novel Lorna Doone is set. The area is surrounded by wooded valleys and historic villages built around ancient churches.
