Gurnard is a village located in the north of the Isle of Wight, only 2 miles outside Cowes and situated on Gurnard Bay. The village boasts a wonderful location because of its lovely beach, Gurnard marshes and its stream named ‘The Luck’ which flows down into the sea, providing you with a wonderful quaint self-catering holiday location.

As it is situated so close to Cowes, Gurnard benefits from the popularity of the local area for sailing with the Gurnard Sailing club enjoying the Gurnard Bay. There are also plenty of places to visit and if you’re looking for some shopping or somewhere nice to have an evening meal you not only have the choices within Gurnard but can also take advantage of what’s on offer in Cowes.

A great place to visit would be Gurnard Fort ruins which can be found on the headland, West of Gurnard Marsh. Discovered when excavating a Roman Villa in 1864, traces of Gurnard Fort were uncovered at the same time.  When staying in Gurnard due to the proximity of Cowes a visit to Cowes is recommended.  Enjoy browsing through the self-catering cottages in Gurnard.
