Shorwell is a village located towards the South West of the Isle of Wight, just 6 kilometres from the county town of Newport which was reputed to be one of Queen Victoria’s favourite places to visit. Shorwell is home to pretty thatched cottages and three large country houses, one of which is the largest manor house on the Island, Northcourt Manor. This mansion house has extensive country grounds containing a beautiful spring, named the Shor well which feeds into a stream. If Shorwell is good enough for Queen Victoria, it has to be good enough for you to enjoy a fantastic self-catering cottage holiday.

Nestling beneath the downs, making it a wonderful place to take a stroll, Shorwell is home to some beautiful landscapes and countryside, perfect for walking holidays or anyone that just likes to get out and about in the downland. Northcourt Manor has some amazing gardens.  Wolverstone Manor as well as being a beautiful historical building also has a working farm.
