The entire area is designated as being of outstanding natural beauty and is ideal for long walks or a relaxed seaside holiday. This area is part of the coast which has just been awarded World Heritage Site Status for its internationally important geology, fossils and geomorphology. It's England's first natural World Heritage Site, this award puts this coast alongside sites such as the Grand Canyon and the Great Barrier Reef. It is about a mile and a half to the sea and there are a variety of beaches to choose from ranging from sandy beaches at West Bay and Lyme Regis to small coves at Eype and Chideock.

Lorton House was built in 1858 as a country residence for the Bridge family. It sits in 22 acres near Weymouth in Dorset and has a panoramic view over nature reserves to the sea, and the isle of Portland beyond, and offers an "away from it all" setting for family celebrations such as anniverasaries and birthday parties, reunions, groups of friends, or corporate meetings.

Although large and imposing, from within, the house retains the feel of a warm and welcoming family home, with central heating in all rooms and tasteful decorations. It can accommodate up to 16 people in 8 bedrooms, with a combination of double, twin and "zip link" beds which can be either. Two of the largest bedrooms can easily accommodate additional beds to form family rooms, if required, bringing the number up to 20. There is an additional Coach House to sleep a further 8 if required.

One bedroom with an en suite shower room is on the ground floor, four on the first floor and three on the top floor. There are 4 additional bath/shower rooms, some of which can be en suite if preferred. There is a gigantic farmhouse kitchen/breakfast room with four oven Aga and an additional electric double oven with hob, dishwasher, fridges and freezer, washing and drying machines.

The drawing room is light and airy, with french windows to the garden, comfortable seating and an open fire, the dining room seats up to 18, has an open fire and an upright piano (of the "honky- tonk" variety!). The grand entrance hall has the main staircase leading off and a separate downstairs W.C. On the lower level is a vast cellar, used as a games room, with the original wine bins (to store your wine in correct conditions) and a full sized billiard table. Outside, there are extensive lawns and parkland, and a barbecue area with gazebo, offering uninterrupted views across to the sea.

Sunnybank House is a nineteenth century Period House of immense character in Clifden, county Galway on the west coast of Ireland.

The House is uniquely situated in its own mature gardens yet only 100 meters from Clifden town centre. The Drawing room is the main room in the House, adorned with paintings and antique furnishings. The gracious room is made intimate by its large roaring turf fire around which friendships are made and stories are told as visitors relax and drink tea or read a book in the evenings.

One of our better known visitors was Chelsea Clinton who stayed with us during her Irish Tour. The bedrooms are all individually decorated with a combination of antiques and modern day conveniences such as tv, direct dial telephones, central heating, large Kingsized orthpaedic beds where possible and ensuite bathrooms.

The Gardens with their blend of rockeries, lily ponds and mature plants offer a calming respite after a long days sightseeing. Our outdoor heated swimming pool is open from June 1st to September 20th. There is also a sauna and tennis court.
