Cosy stone walled and thatched detached cottage (sleeps 1-3) in the heart of this pretty village on the edge of the Cotswolds. There is a comfortable sitting room with uninterrupted views across the garden and onto open countryside. The cottage is completely open-plan with a spiral staircase (not safe for toddlers) to the twin bedroom. There is an additional double bed-settee although the cottage would be cramped with more than two adult guests. The kitchen is simple with an electric hob, fridge and microwave. The toilet and shower room is downstairs. Electric heating is provided at no additional charge. No smoking is allowed inside this property. Five award winning stone 4 Star cottages on our non-working farm, in a glorious location overlooking dales and rolling countryside in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. Buxton , Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Leek and Chatsworth House are all about 11 miles away on the edge of the Peak District at different points on the compass, confirming the owners claim to be very much in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. (The White Peak is the area of rolling countryside, dales, streams and rivers limestone villages and dry-stone walls, which give the area so much character). Alton Towers is less than 30 minutes drive awway.
1, Stoodley Barn in Holne, near Ashburton, Devon, is the larger part of an old, granite barn converted about 20 years ago and is full of character and charm. It is 600ft (190 metres) above sea level and the views are magnificent. The accommodation comprises a lovely, large living room with beamed ceiling and a limestone fireplace. There is a downstairs WC and small kitchen - with beautiful views of the countryside. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms.
