The market town of Bridgwater is a good base for anyone who would like to book a touring holiday in Somerset. A walk around Bridgwater town centre is fairly interesting, there are various historical buildings and blue tourist information plaques that tell of previous occupants of certain houses. A Blake Museum takes pride of place in Bridgwater. Look out for the galloping horse trademark of a former brewing company, Starkey, Knight and Ford.

Other places in Somerset and also Dorset are within easy distance for day trips although the countryside surrounding Bridgwater is very pleasant for a rural holiday.
