St Anthony’s Cottage fronts onto Shop Lane with the rear looking across an open field. The cottage is a very old, traditional Dorset cottage and, like Higher Farm Cottage, is on 3 levels with narrow, steep staircases making it unsuitable for anyone with limited mobility. On the ground floor is a good-sized sitting room with fitted carpet, inglenook fireplace (with wood burning stove), TV and video player. The sitting room connects with a split-level dining room and kitchen. The kitchen provides a cooker, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The rear entrance to the kitchen is via a back hall, off which are a laundry (washer, dryer and boiler) and a shower room (shower, WC and washbasin). From the sitting room there is access to an inner hall with staircase and a ground floor double bedroom (double bed and cot).
On the first floor is a large double bedroom with a queen size bed and a second, smaller double bedroom. Each bedroom is carpeted, with built-in wardrobes and chests of drawers. The second floor provides a bathroom with combined bath/shower, WC and, on a clear day, a view of the sea! To the rear there is a paved patio area and garden. The garden abuts one of Higher Farm's fields. Teak benches, a table and a barbecue are all provided.
There's a double garage with additional parking available by the farm entrance. The cottage is a stones throw, literally, from the church and the local village pub.
Sunday to Sunday weekly bookings. Short breaks available.

Langton Herring is a pretty, quiet village just 5 miles from Weymouth. The Fleet lagoon, with views to Chesil Bank (aka Chesil Beach), is a 10 minute walk from the cottages, as is the South West Coastal Path. Whilst the village has no shop, there is a pub that serves food just a cock stride from the cottage! The surrounding area is magnificent, offering all year activities, whether you prefer to laze on the beach during the summer or walk for miles over coastal and inland paths during the winter. The coastline itself - called the Jurassic Coast because of the abundance of fossils to be found on local beaches - is one of the most beautiful in England. Abbotsbury Swannery is a good place to visit where hundreds of swans can be observed. "For over 600 years this colony of friendly mute swans has made its home at the Abbotsbury Sanctuary. Sheltered by the famous Chesil Beach, this ancient and special site provides protection for hundreds of nesting swans and their broods." There is also a 20 acre tropical garden in Abbotsbury and a children's farm where farm animals can be stroked and fed. Dorchester and Weymouth beaches.
Travel: Dorchester, Weymouth railway approximately 5 miles; Bournemouth, Exeter and Bristol airports less than 50 miles.
Good places to visit: Weymouth - 5 miles, Dorchester, Abbotsbury.
Annual Events:
