Bakehouse Cottage is a self-catering cottage in the village of Langton Herring, Dorset, lying between Weymouth and Abbotsbury. It is offered by Zephen Properties Limited, a company that holds a VisitBritain 5-star rating for its other properties. Bakehouse Cottage is next door to St Anthony's Cottage (q.v.) and for larger parties the two properties combined offer accommodation for 14 adults plus two cots.

The cottage fronts onto Shop Lane with gardens front and rear, the rear looking across an open field,On the ground floor is a good-sized sitting room with fitted carpet, fireplace (with wood burning stove), TV/VCR/DVD/CD player. The sitting room connects with a dining room and through to the kitchen. The kitchen provides a range cooker, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. The rear entrance to the kitchen is via a utility room with hanging space for outdoor wear; washer and dryer; and separate shower room (WC, shower and washbasin). From the dining room there is access to an inner hall with staircase (up) and a couple of steps (down) to a ground floor double bedroom.
On the first floor is a double bedroom; a twin-bedded room; a bathroom; and a shower room. Each bedroom is carpeted; centrally heated; and well equipped with built-in wardrobes and chests of drawers. From the landing is access to the flight of stairs to the second floor bedroom.
On the second floor is a twin bedded room, fully carpeted with built-in wardrobe and chests of drawers.
The whole cottage is fully centrally heated. is a very old, traditional Dorset cottage and, like Higher Farm and St Anthony's Cottages, is on 3 levels with narrow, steep staircases making it unsuitable for anyone with very limited mobility.

The area around Langton Herring village being particularly popular with walkers. Within a half-mile lies the Fleet and Chesil Beach. Weymouth, Dorchester, Abbotsbury and Bridport are all only a short drive away. Further afield are Corfe Castle, Poole, Blandford Forum, Lyme Regis and Bournemouth.
Within 10 - 25 minutes drive. Cerne Abbas Giant. Hardy Country. Sherborne. Good eating at Elm Tree Inn, Langton Herring, King's Arms, Portesham, Turk's Head, Chickerell, Acorn Inn, Evershot; Fox Inn, Corscombe; Little Barwick House, nr Yeovil, Riverside Restaurant, West Bay, Bridport (specialising in fish dishes). Dorchester (Maiden Castle, Ancient hill fort). Weymouth (Regency seaside town, good safe beaches). Bridport. Lyme Regis. Abbotsbury (Swannery). Tolpuddle (Martyr's Museum). Tank Museum, Bovington. Monkey World. Portland Bill.
Travel: Dorchester, Weymouth railway approximately 5 miles; Bournemouth, Exeter and Bristol airports less than 50 miles.
Good places to visit: Stonehenge. Salisbury (Cathedral). Exeter & Exeter Airport. Shaftesbury (Gold Hill). Stourhead (NT). Wells and its Cathedral. Glastonbury with its Abbey and Glastonbury Tor. Clarks Village (at Street) with its wide range of retail outlets.
Annual Events: Numerous events throughtout the year, especially during the summer in coastal resorts like Weymouth.
Good places to eat: Food serving pub a short walk from the cottage, plus many other eateries withing easy driving distance.
Local Sports: Cycling, Fishing, Golf, Horse-riding, Watersports and Walking. All details will be available at the property.
