We are very fortunate in Britain and Ireland to have a good selection of extensive national parks to walk and enjoy. The number of locations where one can escape and be alone in Britain is dwindling. Our national parks are a national treasure.

As a general rule, accommodation will be slightly less expensive outside the national park but that may need to be balance with car parking fees and the cost of travel.
