9 Park Lane (sleeps 11) in the salubrious part of Southwold, Suffolk. It's a 17th Century beamed cottage with loads of character and just a short walk from the mile of beach which stretches from the newly extended pier to the harbour. The beach varies from season to season, sometimes shingle sometimes sand. The pier end has traditional beach huts and promenade while the harbour end has a wide expanse of beach backed by sand dunes ideal for picnics and sunbathing. You can also take the small row boat ferry across the river to Walberswick and enjoy the beach there. Walberswick is the site of the annual crabbing competition.
