At Wester Lix we offer a self contained property with its own unique character and style for that "real home from home" comfort. Jonnas Cottage offers stylish accommodation for groups or families of 4 (5 by arrangement). The cottage has oil fired central heating and double glazing, wood burning stove, TV with full Sky Digital and DVD players (Video on request), our kitchen is fully equipped and if there is anything missing then we would like to know. Jonnas has its own private decking area with dining furniture and also offers its very own sauna, just what you need after a hard days relaxation. Children are most welcome, as are pets by arrangement.

Both bedrooms in Jonna's are en-suite We have a sauna We have a wood burning stove Oil fired central heating and a decking area all overlooking our lochan :) NB the beds in Jonna's can either be Queensize beds ie 6ft wide, or 2x3ft wide.

An extremely comfortable cottage offering accommodation to small groups or families of 4, but is also popular with couples and offers many features including wood burning stove and sauna. A traditional 2 story building approx with lounge, kitchen/diner and 2 bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms plus a further sauna/shower room.

The lounge offers double aspect views with patio doors leading to a decking area with a lovely view over our private lochan.

The kitchen is open plan to the dining area offering elec oven, gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Jonna's Cottage now offers a master double with en suite and a twin or double also with en suite. Additional sofa beds for children and are cot available by arrangement.

A shower room with a sauna for 2/4 is situated downstairs.

Other features include Oil Fired central heating, wood burner in the lounge. double glazing, colour tv with Sky Digital (full family pack) plus DVD player and a video available on request at no additional charge.

Jonna's Cottage has a very light and open feel with all doors and woodwork left in a natural finish, the lounge is south facing with the private decking area benefiting from sunlight from morning to eve with a degree of privacy.

All heating costs are included in the rental price, electricity is by coin meter but we fill the meter before your arrival.

The accommodation at Wester Lix is normally available for a full week during the peak summer season from Saturday to Saturday, or for short breaks as availiblity allows during the low seasons. Please view web site for further details and special offers.

Photographic Courses

At Wester Lix we offer a range of short courses in photography for beginners intermediate and advanced individuals or groups.

Subjects vary from landscape to portraiture, studio to outdoor and also simple digital processing to Web site building. Tuition is offered in modules that can be tailored to the needs of individuals or groups.

The location of Wester Lix is an ideal base for some of Scotlands most stunning landscapes and also a peacefull retreat for studio or pc based tuition.

All tuition is supplied by myself being a qualified professional photographer and a member of the British Institute of Professional Photography. (BIPP)

For all guests staying at Wester Lix we offer a complimentary introduction in any of the listed modules.

Modules

Camera basics - from an introduction for the beginner up to advanced camera techniques.

Studio Lighting - for portrait and still life studio work using either a professional photographic studio or portable lighting for location work.

Outdoor lighting - A short introduction to understanding and controlling natural light to maximize outdoor photography

Digital Processing - taking shots from camera into computer applications to prepare for printing and presentation.

Digital Manipulation - more advanced techniques in Adobe Photoshop to produce fine art or composite digital images.

Web Publishing - finally we can look at how we can take our finished work and publish onto the web.

Jonna's Cottage is set in a truly beautiful area with lots to see and do. We also offer photography courses for anyone wishing to improve their skills or acquire new ones. We also offer a free photo shoot and 8x10 print to our guests of themselves and or their pets . . .

Travel: Glasgow or Edinburgh airports, Crianlarich Station (sleeper)

Good places to visit: Glen Coe, Oban, Wildlife Park Comrie, Safari Park Near Stirling, Pitlochry , Fort William - steam train to Malaig and so on . . .
