Recommended Places to Eat Out: Forss House – just across the lawn from Mill House is the only AA 2 Rosette Restaurant in Caithness and arguably the best restaurant. Great food, relaxed atmosphere, welcoming staff and almost 300 whiskies to choose from in the bar. Not to be missed. The Captains Galley – a lovely fish restaurant in a converted ice-house down by the Ferry in Scrabster, just 10 minutes away. Fish sourced from the market at Scrabster. Fixed price menu. The Upper Deck – a favourite if you want simple no nonsense steak and chips or fish and chips. Fish from Scrabster market and meat from local farmers. Cheerful staff and dining overlooking the harbour at Scrabster (book a table at the window), just 10 minutes away.
