A perfect base for exploring the Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National park. Close to Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall as well as many picturesque villages such as Eyam, Ashford and Bakewell. Cycle or walk on traffic-free trails which cross the Peak District.

Travel: Matlock or Chesterfield Railway Stations

Good places to visit: Matlock Bath for caves and Abraham's Heights, interesting range of caves at Castleton, Lady Bower Dam for walks and views, Alton Towers, Eyam plague village or Chatsworth House and gardens for a historical day out.

Annual Events: 1st Saturday in July - Bakewell Carnival and well dressing. Ashford well dressing in June.

Local Sports: Cycle hire, golf, fishing, horse riding, sailing all available locally.
