Within easy access of Lowswater (4 miles) and Ennerdale (4 miles) this property benefits from an idyllic location in the heart of the North Western lakes. There are plenty of walks from the village of Lamplugh making Millgillhead an ideal location for groups or families who enjoy outdoor life.

With six bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a third toilet Millgillhead easily sleeps twelve people. Recently renovated and refurbished to a high standard, the property boasts the latest in modern convenience while maintaining the intimate features of a classic Lakeland house. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking for ten with two fridges, freezer space, 5 ring range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble drier. The dining room has a large table to comfortably seat ten. The sitting room has widescreen television with Sky freeview, and DVD player. There is an open fire for those long winter nights. Coal and firewood are provided to create the perfect atmosphere. Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, cards and other games are provided for entertainment. The house is heated by gas central heating making it warm and cosy throughout. Up to 2 dogs welcome by arrangement.

Lamplugh is the perfect starting place to explore the Lake District. There are a variety of walks right from the front door, or Loweswater Lake is just four miles away, with Buttermere and Crummock just a mile or two beyond. In the opposite direction is Ennerdale Lake with its forest walks and mountain biking trails. Seven miles away is Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth. William Wordsworth's home is worth a visit, as is Jennings Brewery and Museum. There are plenty of antique shops and cafes, including Merienda which holds the occasional Jazz evening. There are a variety of pubs and smaller shops (butchers, bakers etc) as well as a Sainsburys.

Travel: Penrith railway station is 35 miles away; Newcastle airport is two and a half hours away

Good places to visit: Loweswater and Ennerdale are the nearest lakes. Keswick is nearby and worth a visit. Whitehaven is on the coast with it's harbour. Maryport has a brilliant Aquarium.
