There is a beautiful conservatory with amazing views out over the surrounding mountains and countryside.  This is a lovely place to spend some time relaxing on the comfy sofas.  For eating al fresco there is a terrace with table and chairs where you can dine out and enjoy beautiful mountain views.

The country style kitchen is a pleasure to spend time in and well equipped with a Neff electric double oven and gas hob, Miele dishwasher, fridge, good selection of cookware and pretty china, small table and chairs, inglenook fireplace with cast iron stove, bookcase and spice cupboard. In the utility room there is a microwave, large freezer, additional full-sized ‘fridge and Bosch washing machine.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all with sumptuously comfortable beds to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep.  There is a twin room (which can be made up into a 6’ double on request), double bedroom with 5’ carved oak bed, and master bedroom (5’ bed) with lovely views and an en-suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower.

Fresh air, wonderful walks alongside a beautiful river, discovering rare wild flowers in the pretty meadows, glimpsing a Kingfisher or watching a Dipper bobbing on the edge of a rocky river pool, walking for hours yet rarely meeting anyone else; this is just some of the magic surrounding Goodies Farmhouse. Farmed for centuries with little change, the fields and woods give a sense of stability and peace and that all is right with the world. Venturing a little further afield, there are pretty villages to explore, great country pubs, and for children the nearby open farms are fun. For a more active family holiday there are all the attractions of the central Lake District - which is just over half an hour away - and a hand written guide book in the farmhouse suggests the best of these activities.

Nearest Train Station or Airport: Oxenholme, the Lake District

Recommended Places to Visit: Visit anywhere in the north Yorkshire Dales or eastern reaches of the Lake District. A stay in the farmhouse allows guests to visit both national parks.

Firbank is a rural hamlet close to Sedbergh and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a short drive from the Lake District. This is an area of woods, perfect for country walks. Woods within easy distance are Craggstone Woods, Hag Wood, Crook of Lune Wood, Moor Wood and others. Great area for birding and nature walks.
