A delightful Cumbrian country cottage for two. Located in the pretty hamlet of Barras, five miles from Kirkby Stephen, The Cow Byre is a stone built semi-detached cottage, attached to the owners' farmhouse. This superb property sleeps two people in comfort and has a wonderful king-size four-poster bed with an en-suite bathroom. The accommodation is further comprised of an open-plan living area that includes a kitchen, a dining area, a ground floor basin and WC, and a sitting area with French doors leading out on to a patio area. The patio is supplied with garden furniture and leads on to a small garden area. There is off road parking for up to 2 cars, and an outside storage area suitable for bicycles and walking equipment. Ideally situated between the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park, there’s amazing countryside in all directions, making for excellent walking and wildlife watching opportunities. Cow Byre cottage is a fabulous holiday home for a romantic break away.

The cottage is heated using oil fired central heating with additional heating from a woodburning stove in sitting area. Kitchen with an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine. Wall mounted flatscreen TV with Freeview and built in DVD player, CD/radio. Library of books and DVDs. Oil, electricty and starter pack for woodburning stove included in the rent. Extra fuel for woodburning stove available on an honesty box basis. Bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Cot and highchair available. There is private parking space for two cars. Outside storage area for bikes, walking equipment etc. Small garden area with patio, garden furniture and barbecue. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 3 miles. Pub 2 miles. Please Note: The bedroom is accessed via an open plan staircase from the sitting area. Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Barras is a rural hamlet surrounded by farm meadows, pastures and fells. Five miles away is the market town of Kirkby Stephen, which offers shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. The area around Barras is a walkers and cyclists haven, plus the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks are close by. Barras is a perfect base, at any time of year.
