Accommodation
for walking groups in the Uk and Ireland
You enjoy walking
and being part of a group but wouldn't decline the offer of some
really comfortable and attractive self catering accommodation or holiday cottages to stay in.
So many of
us have experienced youth hostels and similar basic group accommodation
where you sleep in dormitories, encounter cold showers, or the water
suddenly running out just as want to rinse the shampoo from your
hair. You really don't have to rough it - life is far too short,
and you'll have a much more pleasant experience all round.
The following
self-catering accommodation is just a sample of what's on offer.
The cost shared with your walking club is really quite affordable.
The Feature Page button on the left will help you identify numerous
self-catering cottages and accommodation for walking holidays in
England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
| Plas
Glansevin in Carmarthenshire, south Wales can accommodate
24-62 walkers |
|
Plas
Glansevin Mansion is a Georgian listed building set
in 10 acres of grounds, 3 hours from Heathrow yet
in one of the most beautiful parts of the country;
the foothills of the Brecon Beacons - perfect walking and orienteering country.
The mansion has
been carefully renovated, sleeping 34/39 with most
bedrooms en suite. It's a building of great character,
ideal for large groups with something to celebrate.
The swimming pool, sauna and putting green complement
the historical features, and all around are castles
and waterfalls, inspirational walks in the mountains;
Wales at its very best.
The
Coach House accommodates 17 (due to lounge and dining
room space) but it has 23 beds and we allow up to
23 with no extra charge. It is 50 yards from the mansion
and can be rented on its own or with the mansion to
extend the number of bedrooms so that capacity is
62 for both properties and is eminently suitable for
large groups.
