Hampshire for Self Catering Holidays

Hampshire is an area in the South of England which is just a couple hours drive from London.  Hampshire is probably best known for the city of Southampton and for the beautiful New Forest.  Many city and town dwellers like to visit the New Forest on self catering holidays.  In the New Forest you can find attractive moorlands, forested areas and most amazing of all, wild ponies that roam through the New Forest, including the many villages throughout the New Forest.

Pretty villages and towns are dotted throughout the New Forest where you can enjoy a spot of souvenir shopping, a leisurely stop off at a tea shop or hire a bike if you are feeling more energetic.

However you like to spend your time, there is lots to see in the New Forest and plenty pretty towns and villages such as Beaulieu, Lyndhurst and Burley to visit.  Some parts of the New Forest are even by the coast if you fancy taking in some fresh sea air.  Lymington is a pretty town by the coast which is situated just outside the New Forest and well worth a visit.
