Self-catering  accommodation and country cottages for bird watchers in North Wales

South Stack - lighthouse and RSPB Reserve with Visitor Centre on Holy Island,  far west of Anglesey, Gwynned.  Large seabird population on the cliffs, mainly of guillemots, puffins, razorbills, fulmars and kittewakes.  A good number of breeding choughs, terns, peregrine, raven, stonechat and rock pippit may also be seen. Best time to visit is late spring to summer.

Cemlyn Bay - north Anglesey, to view an established breeding tern colony of Arctic, Cornmon and Sandwich terns in the lagoons.  You should also be able to see red-breasted mergansers and various waders.

Penmon Point and Puffin Island - east Anglesey,  to view black guillemots, choughs, peregrine and lesser whitethroat.

Bardsey Island - and bird observatory at the southwest tip of Lleyn Peninsula, Gwynned.   Watch migrant birds such as warblers, thrushes and starlings in spring and autumn. Manx shearwaters nest on the higher reaches of this hilly  island.

Porthmadog -  Visit in winter to watch hunting merlins and flocks of whooper swans. You will also be able to spot wigeons, curlews, and occasionally a  grebe.
