Cheeseborough House is a quaint , beautifully restored weaver's house in a quiet conservation area of Barnard Castle It is within walking distance of local shops and restaurants yet also close to picturesque walks by the River Tees eg to the ruins of Egglestone Abbey. The house is full of character with numerous old features. There are 2 double bedrooms, both ensuite. The perfect place for a romantic weekend.

Cheeseborough House  - Barnard Castle,

Step back into the past in a beautifully restored 17th century weaver's house in Barnard Castle's conservation area. The River Tees flows 50m away and yet the cottage is just a few minutes from local shops. Originally occupied by the Cheeseborough family, carpet weavers, and then home to William Dixon, prominent local preacher whose tombstone may be seen in the local churchyard.

The house has enormous character with old beams, panelling, cast iron fireplaces, stone / pine floors and pine doors. The rooms are full of antiques and books. There is a lounge with pine floor and a wood burning stove, a kitchen / dining room with flag floor and open fire, 2 double bedrooms, both ensuite and a charming walled patio garden.

The cottage is in a quiet cul de sac with ample on street parking. There is even a sherry decanter and other little touches that will help you to relax and switch off. The perfect place for a family holiday or a romantic getaway.

The house is on the Teesdale Way and there are numerous walks from the house itself. High and Low Force waterfalls on the Tees are a few miles away. There are also several historic houses and castle / abbey ruins within a few miles.
