Devon Webbery Barton Barn

Webbery Barton Barn is quite simply one of the largest and finest barn conversions in North Devon. Originally a double threshing barn and round house, this beautiful structure has been sympathetically converted to a very high standard using quality materials and now offers the luxurious refinements of a modern home combined with many original period features. Webbery Barton Barn is south west facing and overlooks its own private gardens and grounds. There are lovely views over open countryside and to the sea in the distance. Being at Webbery Barton Barn you can enjoy the benefits of both worlds, it’s in a quite rural hamlet, yet only just two and three quarter miles from the port and market town of Bideford which offers an extensive range of shops, restaurants and pubs. It is also only seven miles from one of the main towns in North Devon, Barnstaple. Everyone who visits Webbery Barton Barn has told me that there is an immediate ‘wow factor’, as when you enter the grand receiving / dining hall with its lofty vaulted ceiling overlooked by a Juliet balcony, with inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove, it truly is a wonderful room for entertaining. Throughout the whole of the ground floor is the superb oak flooring with underfloor heating. At the centre of the barn is a large hallway with impressive oak staircase leading to the galleried landing above. There is a 34ft drawing room with plentiful leather sofas, widescreen TV with Freeview and DVD. The drawing room leads through to a games room with a snooker/pool table and table football. These two rooms are linked externally by a cloistered sun loggia with is truly impressive. The spacious kitchen / breakfast room is ideal for informal entertaining, it centres around a traditional range recessed beneath a sandstone archway. Floor to ceiling folding glazed doors provide plenty of light as well as access to the beautiful cobbled courtyard which is ideal for breakfasting in the summer. Webbery Barton Barn is the largest Barn Conversion in North Devon available for Self Catering Holidays. Great for large familes or groups of friends of up to 16. Fantastic venue for your special birthdays or family reunions. Piano. Log fire. Large Patio for entertaining outdoors. Devon The Old Rectory

Stoodleigh is a perfect little estate village on top of the scarp of hills running along one side of the glorious Exe Valley, right on the edge of Exmoor. The Old Rectory is a gorgeous Georgian building of the kind in which Victorian vicars would raise large families. The house is now fully refurbished and modernised throughout. You're on top of the world here. Close to the centre of the village, overlooking the little church, the Old Rectory has views of the Blackdown Hills 15 miles in one direction and Dartmoor 20 miles in another. The weather in Devon is warmer than other parts of the country. As well the main living areas, the Old Rectory has a Mediterranean style courtyard, a suntrap barbecue area and there is a boot room for keen walkers to de-boot. On rainy days, a library provides the ideal place to run away and read the newspapers. Stoodleigh is superbly accessible. It is signposted from the North Devon link road which connects the M5 to the resorts of the North Devon and Cornwall coasts. You can be on the beach in 45 minutes. Closer to hand, local pubs include the Exeter Inn, nestled by the dramatic River Exe, the Quarryman’s Rest in Bampton and Hartnoll Hotel outside Tiverton for food, and for gourmets there's a Michelin starred restaurant, the Masons Arms, in nearby Knowstone.
