The fourteen luxury cottages were created in 2009 from the careful conversion of a very grandly designed 19th century stone farm steading built by Lord Armstrong as a showcase for his world famous Cragside Estate, now owned by the National Trust.

The opulent interiors are finished in Farrow & Ball colours, with solid oak doors and furniture, leather sofas, wood burning stoves, flat-screen TVs, and shelves of good books.  Every master bed has an extra-thick luxury mattress to help you enjoy the best night's sleep you've ever had. Not that you'll need much help relaxing in the silent, star-studded serenity of the scientifically-proven most tranquil county in England!

There are lots of walks direct from your door, an award-winning Inn is just a five minute stroll away, and as well as your own private tennis court there is renowned fishing, golf and horse riding all within easy access. Children can play safely in the grounds where there are plenty of toys and over an acre of safe, lawned grounds.

The living room comprises a dining area and a sitting area with an inglenook fireplace and openlog fire. The cottage has two bedrooms, a double and a twin and sleeps four. The kitchen is well equipped and has an oven, hob, microwave, fridge and washer/dryer. There is a small enclosed cottage garden with lawn,flower beds and seating for four people.

For safety reasons we do not recommend the cottage for small children as the property has a steep, narrow staircase and also has an open fire.

Doxford Farm Cottages

Doxford Farm is a 500 acre working farm situated amidst undulating, unspoilt wooded countryside, five miles from the coast. We offer comfortable family accommodation in the form of 8 stone built terrace cottages as well as the farmhouse annexe.

The farm has both arable and livestock enterprises and supports various conservation and environmental stewardship schemes. The cottages are located at the end of a no-through road, thus creating a safe and quiet environment for our guests. The lake holds brown trout and our guests are welcome to fly fish by arrangement with the estate manager. We have five miles of wooded and lakeside walks and trails for our guests to explore the farm and our diverse wildlife.

We have 9 Self catering farm cottages, all 3 to 4 star. All cottages are well equipped with electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezers and microwaves. There is a communal washing room equipped with an additional washing machine and tumble dryer. All linen is provided but we ask you to bring your own towels (excluding Dairy Maids and Farmhouse Annexe). Electricity is supplied by a pound coin meter, found above each front door (excluding Dairy Maids and Farmhouse Annexe). The cottages have a private water supply from a natural spring and parking is available adjacent to each cottage.

Northside Cottage - This cottage is North facing with its own garden. There are three bedrooms comprising of a double, a twin and a large bedroom with a double and a single bed. The bathroom is upstairs with a bath and shower overhead. The sitting room is comfortable with an open fire with flat screen TV and DVD player with Freeview�. There is a separate dining room leading to a well equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

Our new games room provides children an escape from parents and a chance to make new friends. The games room includes a pool table, table tennis, a desk for board games and a Television corner with sky + with all sports and movie channels. All guests are welcome to use the sky plus for sporting events.

Cotterill Farm consists of five four star cottages on a non-working farm in a superb but not remote central Peak District country location. The cottages have been given the newly introduced and fairly rare 'Gold Award' by the English Tourism council for 'exceptional quality in all areas but in particular with regard to service' Two cottages are for four persons, two sleep three (one of these is particularly large and is all on the ground floor and therefore particularly suitable for the less agile), and one sleeps only two.  The owners never rest on their laurels, constantly trying to improve fitments, furnishings and services offered. Twee Gebroeders (Two Brothers)

Twee Gebroeders (Two Brothers) is an 1897 Dutch sailing barge, luxuriously refitted in 2010 to offer elegant waterside living for 4. She can be hired as a static barge with the option of skippered river trips if desired and has a permanent mooring in the delightful hamlet of Pin Mill on the River Orwell. This makes an ideal base from which to explore the Suffolk Coast including the Shotley peninsular, Felixstowe, Aldeburgh, and Woodbridge.

The accomodation consists of a galley and saloon with gorgeous red range cooker, and solid wooden joinery. The saloon area has an upholstered seating unit, dining table, flat screen TV, HI-FI and DVD player and doors outside to the cockpit. The double bedroom is a romantic cabin with portholes all round, luxury linens, and solid wood furniture. The twin is a cosy room ideal for children with standard 2'6 beds, TV and playstation. There is a luxury shower room with handmade Dutch tiles and a full height shower with lashings of hot water.

Outside the barge has an open cockpit with seating for 6 and room for a BBQ onboard!

All weekly bookings include a half day river trip aboard Twee Gebroeders. For those booking weekends and short breaks a river trip is an optional extra which can be reserved when you place your booking.
