Burnham on Sea is one of the most relaxed seaside towns in the West Country for a family holiday. It provides all the essentials for a good seaside holiday: a good wide and gently inclined sandy beach, the shortest pier in the world with a small number of amusements and good tea shops and eateries along the sea front. Burnham on Sea has not been spoilt by over commercialism, its relatively easy to obtain a parking space and not too busy. Just eleven miles north is the much larger seaside resort of Weston Super Mare for all the fun of the fair, good shopping and nightlife.

To the west of Burnham on Sea is the lovely countryside of the Quantocks and Exmoor national park. Other places to visit within driving distance are Glastonbury with its ruined abbey, Chalice Well peaceful garden and mystical community.
