Cottages with hot tubs in Camelford

Camelford is a small village in the River Camel Valley, North West of Bodmin Moor, located just off the A39 route that goes all the way from Bude in north Cornwall to Falmouth in the south.  Situated near Rough Tor, one of the hills of Bodmin Moor and home to numerous pre historic remains, Camelford is an interesting location to spend a self-catering cottage holiday. The beautiful countryside and moorland nearby provides a great back drop to a country holiday.

The local award winning North Cornwall Museum and Gallery recreates ages past through various trades people who lived and worked in this part of Cornwall. Find out about blacksmiths, coppers, saddlers, farmers and cider makers- this could be most illuminating for children who know nothing of these trades.

To the south of Camelford is Bodmin Moor, an expanse of heathland with mysterious standing stones, high tors, relics of old copper mines and ancient ruined villages in amongst the bracken, gorse and pines. A walk across Bodmin Moor is a journey of discovery. To the west is the coast with seaside towns and beaches. Tintagel is just six miles away by car, Port Isaac and Boscastle just a little further. Tintagel is famous for its castle and association with King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Slaughterbridge near Camelford is where King Arthur met his death in a battle.

Hopefully, your self catering holiday in Camelford will be relaxing and free from any battles. One major point of conflict in Cornwall during the summer holidays is parking. When you rent a house or holiday cottage in Camelford, we recommend that you make sure that you have your own dedicated parking space because parking is always at a premium unless you stay in the depths of the country.
