Self-catering near Connemara National Park

ConnemaraA peaceful location on the west of Ireland, Connemara is perfect for anyone seeking to escape the stresses of modern life. Clifden is the main town in Connemara - a coastal settlement between the Atlantic Ocean, 12 Ben Mountains and Irish boglands. It is blessed with plenty of places to eat and shop. You might even be able to purchase a souvenir made of green Connemara marble.

Connemara National Park covers almost 3,000 hectares of bog and heath rising from the coast to the twelve Ben Mountains. Anyone interested in wild flowers or wildlife will find plenty to excite them in the national park - including orchids, carniverous plants, soaring kestrels and the occasional merlin or peregrine.
