Northumberland Breamish Valley Cottages

Breamish Valley Cottages are located in the tiny farming hamlet of Branton near Alnwick, nestling at the foot of the Cheviot Hills, yet only half an hour from the coast. Our seventeen cottages were created from a fine range of stone farm buildings which surround a sheltered and attractive courtyard. Great care was taken to preserve the original character of the buildings as well as meeting the requirements of a comfortable and relaxing holiday. Traditional country furnishings have been used throughout, and all cottages have modern well-equipped kitchens with electric oven, microwave oven and dishwasher. Satellite TV, CD / radio, telephones and well-stocked bookshelves are standard as well as wood-burning stoves and oil-fired central heating. Luxury cottages forming a small complex with an indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, steam room and excellent leisure facilities. Northumberland Doxford Cottages

Brand new cottages newly open. Doxford House - sleeps 8 This is the original farmhouse of Doxford Home Farm; this exceptionally spacious house offers the very last word in gracious living, making a wonderful base for those requiring comfort, tranquility and style. There is a large drawing room with an open fire, a sitting room and a garden room. All three rooms have open views, comfortable seating and superb fixtures and fittings. As with all the cottages at Doxford there is masses of books and good quality pictures and prints. The large farmhouse kitchen is superbly equipped with granite worktops and a full range of modern equipment, including an American style fridge and range cooker. Beyond the oak refectory table and chairs at the southern end of the kitchen, through double glazed doors, the south facing garden room has stunning views through the trees to Doxford Lake. Upstairs here is a double bedroom with king size bed and ensuite bathroom, a twin bedroom with zip link beds, which can be made up as a king size double, and a second ensuite bathroom and a third twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom. There is a very spacious fourth twin bedroom and family bathroom with bath and shower. Doxford is a stunning new self catering business in a superb location, just inland from the wonderful Northumbrian Coast, near the attractive seaside villages of Craster, Embleton, Seahouses and Bamburgh, with easy access to the A1, which runs two miles to the west. The luxurious self catering cottages are set in the centre of the 2500 acre Doxford Estate, which has been owned by the Runciman family, a famous Northern shipbuilding and political dynasty, since 1927.
