Devon Windover Farm Cottage

This enchanting spot boasts a peaceful and idyllic location which is within easy reach of the Jurassic coast (for fossil hunting and sandy beaches), Dartmoor, Exmoor and many National Trust Properties (including Wellington Monument, Killerton House and Knightshayes). For sports enthusiasts there is plenty to do with horse riding, golf and fishing offered locally. The property is also within easy reach of the cathedral city of Exeter and Somerset’s County town, Taunton, which offer farmers markets, high street shopping, theatres, restaurants, leisure facilities, museums and much more. Attractions locally include Crealy Adventure Park, Bicton Gardens, Quad World and Diggerland. Alternatively learn to fly with Devon and Somerset Flight Training or attend the parachute school with Sky Dive UK both based at Dunkeswell Aerodrome (3 miles), try off-roading at the Landrover Experience (7 miles) or explore the ruins of Dunkeswell Abbey (½ mile). In the heart of the Blackdown Hills, tucked away down Devon lanes, lies the tiny hamlet of Madford. A charming cobbled path leads to the front door of Windover Farm Cottage which is over-arched with fragrant honeysuckle and rose. The cottage is warm and inviting decorated and furnished to an excellent standard. In the summer sit and read on the elevated patio, listen to the wildlife or just soak up the outstanding views over the traditional farmland to Dunkeswell Abbey. In the winter-time snuggle up with a glass of wine in front of the log burner set in the Inglenook fireplace or watch the garden birds and woodpeckers on the feeders scattered around the large garden.

Devon Stoodley Barn

Experience a break in the best of the glorious English countryside in a beautiful location that time forgot. 1, Stoodley Barn in Holne, near Ashburton, Devon, is the larger part of an old, granite barn converted about 20 years ago and is full of character and charm. It is 600ft (190 metres) above sea level and the views are magnificent. The accommodation comprises a lovely, large living room with beamed ceiling and a limestone fireplace. There is a downstairs WC and small kitchen - with beautiful views of the countryside. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms. The smaller bedroom has a standard single bed, with an extra pull-out bed for a child. The main bedroom is cosy and comfortable with a normal size double bed, en-suite WC and wash basin; there are panoramic views for 20 miles. The family bathroom and WC is also on this upper floor. Visitors have the benefit of the large southerly facing garden, and there is parking for 2 cars. Pets are very welcome (except in the bedrooms)and there is no extra charge or deposit. Up to 2 dogs welcome by arrangement.

The accommodation is a large part of this lovely farmhouse. There are three bedrooms all with en-suite(one bath, two have showers) One double and two twin bedded rooms. The main bedroom has a TV.
