Attractive, hundred year old sand-stone cottage,in the original hamlet of Duloch, bordering on 15 acres of our own woodland,part fern & bluebell,also orchids & hundreds of species of flora, wild fruit, etc., (wildlife includes deer, buzzard, pheasant, badger, butterflies.) designated campfire areas, stream, rustic walks. It is just 10 miles North of Edinburgh,in a small hamlet and 2 miles from Rosyth Ferry terminal. Views of historic Forth Rail Bridge. The local historic village of Inverkeithing is 1 mile away. The cottage is ideal for a family with 2 children but can sleep an extra child or two. 2 bedrooms 1 with double & single, one with 2 singles. Also z-bed on request for living room at £15. Cots on request for bedroom.It has a very well equipped kitchen including microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer(very good laundry facilities). The large comfortable living room has a colour TV, VCR, DVD player,digital freeview channels, dozens of videos & d.v.d's and library with hundreds of good books, a woodburning stove with radiators & storage heaters plus extra oil filled radiators. There is one bathroom with a shower over the bath. Appealing, enclosed rear garden with furniture, B.B.Q., croquet & a place to sit for smokers as there is no smoking indoors. Some antiques and restored original and distinctive solid wood features, i.e. panelled doors,living room original floorboards.Feature window seat. (When the cottage is not booked, it can be used as a self-catering bed & breakfast, £25 per person per night.  Very good continental style breakfast including ham & cheese, an additional breakfast pack to cook (usually from our local butcher, also very free range eggs can be arranged for longer stays.etc.) A few woodland & meadow land camps also available with designated campfires & a 2 berth classic caravan - ask for details. You could bring your own tent & try a night under the stars. Just let me know & I'll keep a pitch for you.Good also for walkers & cyclists as the Fife coastal path is nearby. Banffshire Craig Cottage

Our cottage was completely refurbished in 2007 to a very high standard,a serious amount of care and attention to detail has been taken with all high quality furnishings and fittings.The cottage borders the Duff House coservation area and woodland, the magnificent Duff House is a beautiful 2 mile walk along the riverside and through the woodlands. The immediate area abounds with wildlife such as deer, foxes, badgers, otters, pine martins, buzzards and our resident red squirrels, rabbits, pheasants and woodpeckers.The unusual appearance of the cottage is due to part of it being built as a folly to Duff HouseCraig Cottage has a private parking area and garden overlooking the woods and countryside. The front of the cottage is a south facing sheltered suntrap with spacious patio area, garden furniture and barbecue.The cottage grounds, while beautiful all year round, come alive in May and June as does the whole woodland when the rhododendron borders are in full bloom, very romantic.Outside there is a large rod room and toilet to keep all your angling equipment, golf clubs and bikes the rod room is heated and has a sink and tumble dryer. Craig Cottage is our unique 3 bedroom 2 bathroom luxury cottage.  The cottage is nestled in a secluded location above the Bridge of Alvah and the gorge yet only 2 miles from historic Banff on the majestic Moray Firth coast. The cottage is perfect for the Castle, Whisky and Coastal Trails and really is paradise for walking, Golfers and fly fishermen, we have our own prolific Salmom and Sea Trout beat 200 yds from the cottage on the River Deveron one of Scotlands top 5. The cottage has all luxuries including plasma TV and Sky satelite (sports package) and even a laptop with Wi Fi Internet, all bedrooms having Sony Bravia lcd tvs and dvd players. From the bottom of the garden the river runs through the bridge and gorge, a truly beautiful spot to sit and relax watching the Salmon and Trout jump, or to spend an afternoon painting.Click on the photo for more information.
