The cottage is cosy with some of its older walls of original Cotswold stone.  It has its own little garden.  Some windows overlook an apple and pear orchard.  There is a comfortable sitting room with a view over the garden up to the hills and from the dining room one can see the Cheltenham Racecourse and stands in the distance.  Up the little winding stairs are two bedrooms, one with twin beds and the other with a double bed.  The modern fitted kitchen has the normal facilities including electric cooker, microwave oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.  A cosy cottage sleeping 4 in Cheltenham. Nottinghamshire Spruce Cottage

This secluded 1850s cottage has been recently modernised and refurbished, and lies in a beautiful setting down a private drive  surrounded by its own private  woodland and grazing paddock. The cottage enjoys its own garden with barbeque and use of 20 acres of private woodland and parkland for walking.  As well as common birds, we have had nuthatches, long-tailed tits and greater-spotted woodpeckers visiting us to feed. The cottage is a great escape from traffic. Derbyshire Cotterill Farm Cottages

Cotterill Farm consists of five cottages on a non-working farm in a superb but not remote central Peak District country location. Three cottages are for four persons, and the other two are equally large cottages but one (all on the ground floor and therefore particularly suitable for the less agile), sleeps three, and one sleeps only two. Despite consistent grading of 4 Stars, the owners never rest on their laurels, constantly trying to improve fitments, furnishings and services offered. (e.g. Two cottages have  full Sky tv, the others freeview, and all have internet wireless broadband.) These are just examples, there are many other ways that things have been recently 'tweaked'!  The cottages have exposed beams and stone-work. The cottages are 300 yards up a private drive and form part of a courtyard facing outwards over the surrounding fields and dales to give excellent views and some degree of privacy. In front of these cottages is a large grassed and garden area. There is ample area for off-road parking for all cottages. The two person cottage has a galleried bedroom overlooking the large living room, in the centre of which is a log burner standing on a stone plinth acting as a focal point It also has a five piece suite in the top quality bathroom. Five award winning stone 4 Star cottages on our non-working farm, in a glorious location overlooking dales and rolling countryside in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. Buxton , Matlock, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Leek and Chatsworth House are all about 11 miles away on the edge of the Peak District at different points on the compass, confirming the owners claim to be very much in the heart of the White Peak area of the Peak District. (The White Peak is the area of rolling countryside, dales, streams and rivers limestone villages and dry-stone walls, which give the area so much character). Alton Towers is less than 30 minutes drive awway.

Devon Stoodley Barn

Experience a break in the best of the glorious English countryside in a beautiful location that time forgot. 1, Stoodley Barn in Holne, near Ashburton, Devon, is the larger part of an old, granite barn converted about 20 years ago and is full of character and charm. It is 600ft (190 metres) above sea level and the views are magnificent. The accommodation comprises a lovely, large living room with beamed ceiling and a limestone fireplace. There is a downstairs WC and small kitchen - with beautiful views of the countryside. Upstairs, there are 2 bedrooms. The smaller bedroom has a standard single bed, with an extra pull-out bed for a child. The main bedroom is cosy and comfortable with a normal size double bed, en-suite WC and wash basin; there are panoramic views for 20 miles. The family bathroom and WC is also on this upper floor. Mill View and Orchard Cottage (a timber-clad farm building conversion) each sleep 4 people and are mirror images of each other. They are set well back from the road with ample car parking space. Facing west at the rear onto meadowland, guests are virtually guaranteed glorious sunsets from their own patio. If the patio gets too hot, you can relax in the shade of the small orchard, where you will find additional seating - a very relaxing place to read a book or just take a well earned rest. Views of Thaxted's cathedral-like Church and windmill can also be enjoyed in the distance. Furnishings are comfortable and colour co-ordinated and for your convenience include hair dryer, iron, vacuum cleaner, clock radio, games, videos, music, etc and a welcome grocery pack to get you started.
