About Peinora House
When you get the urge for wild and remote places, do consider the Isle of Skye in Scotland; a magnificent birding and wildlife destination. This is where to go to spot seals on a deserted beach, eagles soaring in the sky and sea birds hovering in wait over fishing boats. Skye is the Scottish Isle of a thousand superb images, from beaches, to hillsides, scattered whitewashed croft houses and fairy glens.2 Bedroom Sleeps 4 Whitewashed Cottage on Isle of Skye with Superb Coastal and Country Views
One such white-washed croft house is called Peinora. It is a typical cottage of the area that has been turned into a holiday home. Being remote, the house has oil central heating and living flame heaters in the living and dining rooms. You will be cosy despite any winds. Inside, the property is much as it used to be pre-holiday let days. Two leather sofas are positioned for a good view of the television in the living room. Pictures on the wall and ornaments add homely touches.A wooden table and four chairs stand in the dining room. The violin on the wall and music themed pictures speak of an owner who appreciates music. If you’re fortunate, you may be able to hear some fiddle playing in the local hostelries when you visit for a drink or a meal. The residents of Skye are very welcoming to visitors so you should enjoy a good evening.
The modern fitted kitchen has another small table; ideal for eating breakfast. The cooker is electric and you would have a dishwasher to help clear up. There is also a washing machine which is essential when staying anywhere by the sea because of all the damp towels to wash after the beach. You might not be tough enough to swim in the sea but most people would go for a paddle, especially when you come across one of Skye’s pristine sandy beaches or intriguing rock pools. Sandy feet could be rinsed in the ground floor shower room which also has a WC and washbasin.
There is another WC and washbasin upstairs alongside the two bedrooms, both of which are under the eaves and have some slightly sloping ceilings. One bedroom is a double and the other a twin.
Sorry no pets permitted at this property.
Outside, the garden is laid to grass and shrubs. There is seating so that you can sit and soak up the scenery over a coffee or just birdwatch.
The Isle of Skye is much loved for its remoteness and simplicity. It is a place where you can be at peace with your thoughts and have time to see and appreciate what Mother Nature has achieved without human interference. This holiday home is near Uig which has nothing but moors, sheep, sky and sea. Travel to the town of Portree to stock up at the supermarket. Explore the harbour and marina.
You will find plenty to see on the Isle of Skye and if you would like a few activities, there are plenty of watersports, fishing and boating. The fresh seafood is to die for, you could enjoy haute cuisine or simple fish and chips. You would love it, do come.
