Bardwell is a hamlet in Suffolk that comes under the address of Bury St Edmunds which is about eleven miles southwest. Despite consisting of a handful of streets, Bardwell has a couple of pubs, a post office and shop combined, plus a parish church.  It is a charming place to stay for a Suffolk holiday; tranquil, attractive and friendly. The names of the roads tell of its past history and appearance: Quaker Lane, School Lane, The Croft, Up Lane, Low Lane.

What Bardwell, Suffolk offers for Self-Catering Holidays

Some of the roads such as Church Road are quite narrow; real country lanes edged by hedges, meadows and farmland. The lanes are wonderful for cycle rides or country walks.  Cycle to Up Street and the Six Bells Inn to enjoy rural views and a drink in a country pub at the end of it. Walk along Up Street and you will notice uses of weatherboarding in black on the houses, or flints incorporated into the walls. These features give Suffolk buildings their character.

Everyone sleeps better in a rural area. Find a good quality cottage to rent and settle down in Bardwell for a well-earned holiday.  Suffolk is a great place for a few days break, brimming with history and beauty, antique shops, tea shops and old country inns, it offers lots of days out exploring and marvelling at the richness of the county. And if the weather turns hot, there is always the opportunity to have a day out on the coast.

Whether you choose to book a holiday cottage in Bardwell, an apartment, a lodge or another type of self-catering holiday accommodation, we hope you have your best holiday yet in Suffolk.
