About this Large Holiday House with Hot Tub

The Old Rectory was originally built in around 1816 and has been lovingly restored and refurbished to its former glory with modern amenities added to make this a fantastic holiday house for up to 18 people.   With views out to sea, this is an impressive country house offering high quality luxurious accommodation.  For relaxation, there is a superb bubbly hot tub whereas for fun times with your group of friends and/or family there is pool table/table tennis table.

Whether you’re planning a special celebration or an intimate get together, there are a range of reception rooms available at this holiday house to suit the occasion.  Sit down for a meal altogether in the roomy dining room or relax in one of the comfy lounge areas by one of the warming woodburners.  There is also a library room with a large TV and DVD collection.

Six of the bedrooms have en-suite facilities and there are 3 shared bathrooms for the other 3 bedrooms.  The bedrooms are all named in a hotel suite style and furnished to be both luxurious and relaxing. 

Outside are the secluded gardens and outdoor dining area.  The walled garden is complete with play equipment and a trampoline and is an ideal place to watch the children play.

Somerset has so much to commend it as a holiday destination that it is difficult to know where to begin. The Quantock Hills are simply beautiful, the kind of place that has visitors reaching for the cameras and birdwatchers becoming extremely excited. A gentle ramble on a sunny day reveals hedgerows overflowing with wild flowers and tidy farms dotted here and there. The sea is another draw, especially for families - children of all ages like to paddle, dig and eat ice cream. There are masses of places to visit and Taunton Museum is high on the list for children.

Recommended Places to Visit: The Somerset Coast - Blue Anchor and Watchet are close by. Dunster Castle always makes for an interesting visit on holiday. Lynton and Lynmouth are worth exploring.

Annual Events: Bridgwater hosts a Guy Fawkes Carnival with illuminated floats. It held on the 7th of November in 2015, in Burnham-on-Sea on the 9th of November followed by another in Minehead on the 13th of November then several others spaced out a few days apart to culminate with a final carnival and firework display in Glastonbury at the end of the month. Every month plays host to an event of one kind or another in Somerset including art shows, workshops, theatre, food and drink festivals and Christmas extravaganzas. The tourist boards do their best to entertain holidaymakers all year round.

Recommended Places to Eat Out: Holidays are all about enjoyment and most people find eating out a pleasure. You may wish to sample these eateries in north Somerset: The Windmill Inn, - local in West Quantoxhead. Others recommended for evenings out or even lunch whilst exploring Somerset on holiday: Rising Sun The Hood Arms, The Luttrell Arms, The Carew Arms.
