Goodwood Cottage is the epitome of classic English charm and sleeps five people. This three bedroom Cotswold stone holiday home stands in attractive shrubbery with picture box perfect white roses trailing over the porch. Step through the front door and into a hallway which has doors leading to the kitchen and cloakroom. The cloakroom doubles as a utility room in that it also houses the washer/dryer. A cream Shaker kitchen is equipped with just about every appliance necessary for holiday living, allowing guests to rustle up meals and snacks at will, which is one of the pleasures and freedoms that self-catering provides. Guests can breakfast at the central pine table. Stairs from the kitchen lead up to the nicely proportioned sitting room with dining area.
The main colours in this country cottage tend to be white, cream, green and yellow. A pale coloured sitting room is furnished with comfortable sofas and chairs surrounding an open fire. Deep golden curtains and a circular rug add to the cosiness of this room. It is furnished traditionally and tastefully and table lamps, paintings and porcelain ornaments complement the decor. The antique dresser beside the circular mahogany dining table displays an admirable collection of Masons ironstone tableware. A rich warm wood desk and leather upholstered green chair in one corner is an excellent place to sit and plan days out in Oxfordshire. The warm country-style extends through to the bedrooms.
A huge mahogany four poster bed draped in white stands pride of place in the sage green painted master bedroom. A glamorous white en-suite shower room with wall-to-wall mirrors leads off the bedroom.
The other two bedrooms share a shower room. One of the bedrooms is single and sleeps guests in a Chinese-style four poster bed. The twin bedroom under the eaves is decorated in charming floral wallpaper and has elegant wrought iron beds, a table and carefully placed lamps with white shades.
A private and secluded back garden has a table and chairs, a barbecue and lawned garden edged with rose beds, fragrant honeysuckle and lilies.
